Bureau d’Esprit

The Bureau d’Esprit translates laterally into an Office for Visual Thinking, a studio for exercising the mind and spirit through visual means. It references 18th century salons run by women that were fuelled by intellectual wit and harsh critical analyses. For the MM-U, the Bureau d’Esprit is like an online artist’s studio or personal office that can be used to gather materials and undertake research. Faculty of the MM-U have their own Bureau d’Esprit, which they can open up to guests or transform into a Debating Chamber for larger audiences. Some Bureau d’Esprit are open for browsing, others remain closed to visitors.
